Sound familiar?

You already speak English, but since moving to Scotland...

You understand English well, but everyday conversations can still be difficult to follow.

Words and expressions you know can sound different when people speak naturally.

Different accents and ways of speaking take time for your ear to get used to.

You sometimes know the words on paper, but do not recognise them quickly enough when you hear them.

What people say

"Being part of a group with other international professionals is incredibly enriching. It has helped me become more familiar with the different accents and ways of speaking, while also strengthening my intercultural communication skills."

Bianca Pistorio, Glasgow

"Listening to people from different backgrounds provides you with a better chance to improve your listening skills. Another huge advantage is that you take part in conversations where different phrasal verbs and structures come up naturally."

Why GoGabber?

A bit about me

Lesley Eadie, GoGabber CAMBRIDGE CELTA QUALIFIED

I created GoGabber after 17 years in international business, including global roles connected to Scotland's whisky industry.

After living and working across cultures, I saw that strong English is only one part of communication in Scotland. The harder part is often understanding the local expectations, humour, small talk and unspoken rules that shape everyday conversations.

GoGabber helps international professionals bridge that gap so they can understand more, join in more easily and feel more like themselves when speaking English.
